Manly



A dear scene of two old friends sharing their fish and chips with the gulls on the Corso in Manly, a suburb of Sydney. One is dressed in his best suit and tie - even in the blistering heat of the midday sun. They were loving it even if the folks around them were not.

School outing



This cute scene of little girls in Sydney brought back memories of my early school days with their uniforms, wide-brimmed hats, ambling along in a line while dragging tog bags almost as big as they are.

The Opera House



Mom and I visited family in Sydney for a few days last week. It was gorgeous - the city is much more beautiful than I'd imagined. After a drizzly day in the city we were heading home on the ferry when the sun came out and lit up the opera house as we were passing. Beautiful.

You say Courgette, I say Zucchini...



Apparently my mom has quite the talent for growing zucchinis. This is just one of a few that she has grown in her garden. They actually taste really good but they are a little hard to cut when they get this big!

We eat something from her 100% organic veggie garden every day - including beans, carrots, tomatoes, silverbeet, rocket. Soon we will be picking the few pumpkins that have survived the heat and mildew.

This is Duder Regional Park - about 15 minutes drive from home and one of our favourite places to go walking. It doesn't matter how many times I see this blue water I'm always entranced.

Sheep



This is a photo I took on a walk in the first few days I was here. Amazingly the grass is brown due to the lack of rain recently which has been a huge concern for farmers. The distinctive NZ emerald green grass is struggling a bit these days. Never fear - the winter is bound to make up for it!

My name is Catherine (also known as Lady Catherine). I'm a photographer, designer, nature-lover and explorer.

Originally from South Africa, I have spent a number of years in the States, but I am now living in New Zealand, the Land of the Long White Cloud (or Aotearoa in Maori). These are my experiences and findings as a foreigner in this exciting and beautiful country.
